Quilting Ribbons & Bag Drama: A Michigan Summer Story
Share
Pull up a chair, grab your favorite fabric, and let us tell you about the most exciting week we've had in a while...
🎪 We Went to the Fair — and Came Home with a Ribbon!
That's right — we packed up our quilt, held our breath, and walked away with 3rd place in quilting at the Oakland County State Fair! 🧵✨
Honestly? We're still a little giddy about it. There's something truly magical about a county fair — the smell of funnel cake in the air, the rows of handmade treasures, the quiet thrill of seeing your work hanging on display. We're so grateful for this community and for every stitch that got us here.
🍋 When Life Gives You Smoke...
Here's the thing about being a maker — you learn to adapt. This summer, the smoke rolling across Michigan forced our market to cancel, and honestly? It stung. We had bags packed, tables planned, and excitement ready to go.
But we're not ones to sit around waiting for the air to clear (literally). Instead, we did what any self-respecting stitch witch does: we put our own handmade bags in the shop. That's right — our very own bags, are now available online. Lemons → lemonade → really cute bags. 🍋🖤
🔐 And Speaking of Hardware...
We've been quietly squirreling away the most delightful bag making hardware, and the time has finally come to share it with you! Bag making hardware is officially in the shop — and we are so excited.
Think swivel hooks, D-rings, zipper tape, and all the little bits and bobs that turn a pile of fabric into something you actually want to carry around town. Whether you're dreaming up a market tote, a structured handbag, or a whimsical little pouch, the right hardware makes all the difference.
🧵 Why Bags? Why Now?
Because bags are basically wearable art. They're functional, they're giftable, they're the perfect project for when you want to sew something that feels fancy without taking six months. And with our fabrics? Oh, the combinations you'll dream up.
We've been bag-obsessed for a while now, and we couldn't keep all this hardware — or these bags — to ourselves any longer. It felt selfish, honestly.
✨ Come See What's New!
Head to the shop to browse our handmade bags and our new hardware arrivals. Mix, match, and make something wonderful. And if you create something with our supplies, we absolutely want to see it — tag us and show off your work!
Here's to fair ribbons, smoky skies, silver linings, and the joy of making things with your hands. 🖤
